Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea.

The 22-year-old Argentine international has joined on a season-long loan agreement.

Garnacho graduated from the Manchester United youth ranks and went on to make 144 appearances for the Old Trafford club before moving to Chelsea in the summer of 2025.

Equally comfortable operating on either flank or through the middle, Garnacho scored eight times in 43 appearances for Chelsea last season.

Capped eight times by his country, the winger won the 2024 FIFA Puskás Award for his spectacular acrobatic volley against Everton. 

Unai Emery said: "We are delighted with Alejandro. He is so talented, young and he showed us his wish to help our project. We are really happy."

GARNACHO'S NUMBER:

Alejandro Garnacho became Aston Villa’s third summer signing on Wednesday.

The Argentine international signed on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Garnacho will wear the No.17 shirt at Villa, a number he wore during his time at Manchester United.

He has also sported the number when playing for Argentina during his eight caps.
