 Benfica's Gianluca Prestianni was accused of alleged racism against Vinícius during the match against Real Madrid. Today, SL Benfica issued an official statement in full support of the player.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica will cooperate fully, with the utmost transparency, openness and commitment to clarity, in the investigations announced today by UEFA, following the alleged racism incident that occurred during the match against Real Madrid.

The Club reaffirms, in clear and unequivocal terms, its longstanding and uncompromising commitment to upholding the values of equality, respect and inclusion – values that align with the foundational principles of its founding and for which Eusébio stands as its greatest symbol.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica further reiterates its full support for and belief in the account given by player Gianluca Prestianni, whose conduct while representing the Club has always been defined by respect for opponents, institutions and the principles that shape Benfica’s identity. The Club deplores the defamatory campaign to which the player has been subjected.
