Italy coach Gattuso scouts Al-Duhail midfielder Verratti

RMC says the Al-Duhail midfielder is on Gattuso's radar. Indeed, he is leaning towards recalling the former PSG star.

Verratti hasn't worn the Italian jersey for two years, since a match in March 2023.

Gattuso and Gigi Buffon, the national team's general manager, were in Qatar this past Thursday to watch the match between Al-Duhail and Al-Wakrah.

Verratti scored in the game, further fueling speculation that he is close to a return to the Italian national team, which hasn't qualified for the World Cup since 2014.
