Luka Modric drops hint on AC Milan future ahead of next season

Luka Modric has spoken about his future at AC Milan as his current deal nears its final weeks.

His contract at San Siro is set to expire at the end of the campaign, although an option exists to extend it for another year.

Now 40, the Croatian midfielder remains an important figure under Massimiliano Allegri and is focused on finishing the season by adding more silverware to his decorated career.

Since joining the club from Real Madrid, the former Ballon d'or winner has continued to perform at a high level.

Speaking to Sportmediaset, Modric remained measured but hinted at his strong connection with the club and its supporters.

"What I can say is that I'm very happy in Milan, but the most important thing now is the match against Cagliari on Sunday and Champions League qualification," he said.

"As for the rest, we'll see. I have a good relationship with the club, the management, and the coach.

"When I chose Milan, it was to help and try to win. This year, that didn't happen, but it's clear that I'd like to win a trophy with Milan. I repeat: right now, though, I'm only thinking about Sunday's match."
